Даже базовые выпуски куклы Cissy (одетой только в нижнее белье) были доступны только состоятельным семьям, так как стоили очень дорого. Она вызвала бум на рынке игрушек того времени. Сегодня модели кукол тех времён стоят баснословно дорого, и их очень трудно найти в продаже.
В 1957 году Madame Alexander Doll Company выпустила на рынок уменьшенную версию Cissy – 10 (25 см ростом) Cissette, которая все равно по качеству была выше всех своих конкуренток.
Однако появление в 1959 году куклы Барби фактически похоронило весь рынок fashion-кукол середины пятидесятых годов. Последний выпуск Cissy относится к 1962 году, и после этого она лишь несколько раз появляется в эпизодических ролях.
Компания решила, что Cissy олицетворяет не только гламур 1950-х годов, но и способна быть современной иконой авангардной моды с легким налетом ретро.
Каждый год издается всего 2-4 модели кукол Cissy тиражом от 65 до 200 экземпляров на весь мир. И Cissy вернула себе статус одной из самых дорогих коллекционных кукол, выпускаемых промышленным способом. Поэтому не каждый коллекционер может похвастаться наличием хотя бы одной Cissy в своем собрании.
В России эту куклу обычно называют Alex. Точнее, не совсем так - Alex - это 16-дюймовые куклы, Cissy – 21-дюймовые, Cissette - 10 дюймовые. В линейке (смотрите фотогалерею) есть и джентльмены.
Цены: Cissette стоит за рубежом в среднем около 200 долларов, в зависимости вероятно от костюма, некоторые варианты есть и меньше 100 долларов, а есть и более 400 долларов за куклу. Cissy дороже, цены в среднем - около 500-600 долларов за куклу, а встречала также и юбилейные - дороже чем 1500 долларов за куклу, у всех ограниченный выпуск, у самых дорогих - всего 85 кукол в тираже - на весь мир.
